Jodee Peevor

jodeeJodee Peevor is the owner of Jigsaw, a web design and internet marketing business based in Birmingham in the Midlands. Jodee believes in being the good guy, the guy who quotes honestly, works hard and has a team around her who promotes this ethic superbly. Jigsaw has mastered the art of SEO for Joomla! sites and enjoys making their websites work hard for her clients. Jodee is a staunch supporter of Joomla! and has been since starting her business 6 years ago. The learning curve continues...

Jodee is leading the team and overall manager of Joomla!Day UK 2011


Steve Ballard

steveSteve Ballard is a founding partner in Footsteps Design; a graphic design company established 12 years ago. Working in both print and online media the focus of footsteps is to create 'excellent design that works' not just pretty… not just functional but both. Based in Colchester, Essex, Footsteps are quite new to the Joomla! scene – 18months! Steve's particular passion is bespoke template design, and his first 1.6 template is this site! He is also a founding member of the Joomla! User Group Essex.

Steve is heading up the print & web branding of Joomla!Day UK 2011


Ian Wright

ianwright

Ian Wright is the man behind New World Designs - a media production company which has produced award winning adverts for Sony, Santander bank and many other blue chip companies.

He has spent the past 5 years on building components which are designed to add entries into the Google Merchant Centre.

Ian has developed several components for Joomla! including Joomla Site Monitor, Joomla Google Base, HSBC Gateway system for VM, and many others.

Alongside Joomla!, he is a very well credited and accomplished photographer, with international awards, owns one of only 4 in the world Bullet Time rigs, produces Quick Time Virtual Reality movies.

Ian is responsible for the media and Web management of Joomla!Day UK 2011


Russell Searle

russell jdayukRussell Searle became involved with Joomla! and its predecessor through the setup and development of several successful intranet solutions for a multinational engineering firm using Joomla! with IIS (FastCGI rocks!). He is currently involved in the project to upgrade these sites to Joomla! 1.7.

He has also been involved with the rollout and management of several Joomla! solutions in addition to creating bespoke templates and components.

 

Russell is responsible for the event and operations management of Joomla!Day UK 2011.


Ruth Cheesley

ruthRuth Cheesley runs Virya Technologies Ltd., who provide ethical technology solutions to small and medium sized businesses around the world.

Originally picking up Mambo and soon after Joomla! when searching for an alternative to static sites, Ruth found Joomla! easy to pick up and benefited greatly from the friendly support on the forums and IRC chat room which led her to specialise in the area.

She helped to co-found Joomla! User Group Suffolk with Matt Meyrick after meeting at Joomla!Day UK 2009, and has been a core part of the organising committee for Joomla!Day UK 2010.

Ruth's interests lie in helping newcomers to Joomla! overcome the first hurdles of figuring out how Joomla! works and answering all the questions people think are too silly to ask!

Outside of work, Ruth is a keen hockey player, playing in goal for a local team, and is also a practising Buddhist, involved with local centres in Ipswich and Colchester.  She has a keen interest in hill walking and is a supervisor and assessor with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme.

Ruth is managing PR & marketing for Joomla!Day UK 2011


Chris Williams

scampichrisChris Williams is currently Web Projects Manager at 247.tv - offering free and pay-per-view Live and On Demand video based on a Joomla! platform.

A PHP programmer for a mere 6 years, Chris has been known to create social communities and content management systems for various clients before finding Joomla! was a better way to do it.  His current roles can have him at international sporting events maintaining the streaming web site 247.tv and doing the directing, or back at base ensuring everything is running smoothly, a job that involve knowledge of the video production and distribution chain from camera lens  to the clients web browser and DVD player.

Chris is Managing the back-end functionality of the site and Social media for of Joomla!Day UK 2011.


Andrew Rose

andrewsmAndrew Rose runs web design and hosting company, inch hosting. He has a huge amount of experience with open source software and specializes in Joomla!, having been involved since the Mambo days and as part of the Joomla! bug squad. In the past he has been involved in IT at a senior level in a major blue chip environment and, before setting up inch, was Head of Microsoft Products for BT.
